Fall Releases an Ominous Sign?

As the worm turns....

Here we are, on the doorstep of Winter and Christmas, looking for the annual Fall flood of new PC Game releases. Where are they?

Sure, there's been a few released - they are/were so buggy the developers and publishers were not only embarrassed, they were downright scorned by the users/consumers. Note the spate of quickie fixes/updates and patches.

In the meantime, many familiar developers/publishers are obvious by their absence.. maybe they LEARNED from their mistakes of releasing fall season versions of their alpha state buggy software and bad attitudes.

In any case, the "pickin's are kinda lean" this fall.. Actually, that's a good thing as it signals the marketing jackasses have been forced to take a backseat to the developer desires in wishing to provide high quality, relatively bug free games that will play reliably. Most of all, only to be released when ready.
In the meantime... because of the economic and insecure state of the world in general, sales across the boards are down in comparison to years gone by.

That too, can be a good thing, it gives the entire industry an opportunity to take a breather, step back and re-evaluate their plans for both development and marketing.
'Tis a golden opportunity for all to revamp, rebuild and prosper.

That is... If they have the proper leadership and foresight.

Time will tell.
